Wanna strut your guts?
ScareHouse, a haunted attraction inside Pittsburgh Mills Mall in Frazer, is holding a contest to find the city’s ultimate zombie. Happy Augtober!
On Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., don undead threads and lurch over to the former H&M location near the food court (BRAINS!) to compete for the coveted title (Pittsburgh is the Zombie Capital of the World, after all). Entrants will receive one voucher for ScareHouse while supplies last, and the winners will receive RIP-access all season. RIP is, like, VIP for the formerly deceased.
Celebrity judges include legendary news anchor Sally Wiggin, horror influencer and creator of EEEEK! Creature Coffee Christalee Lema, TikTok star Brandon Max and ScareHouse’s own Zombie Barbie.
The panel will critique participants on their rotten appearance, shamble, groan and feeding technique. Need pointers? Watch Director George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead,” which was filmed in nearby Evans City. Reanimated corpses (and the people who love them) will gather in the Butler County town Oct. 20-23 for The Living Dead Weekend. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the cult classic.
ScareHouse opens for the season Sept. 8. It’s been ranked as one of America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions by Travel Channel.
But they could always use more bite.
